Jens Schuermans (MTB XCO Olympian) partners with Phits Insoles

Better knee stabilization and better control throughout the complete rotation

Jens Schuermans (°1993) is a professional MTB rider who already took part in the Rio Olympics where, at age 23, he finished in 18th position. Currently, Jens is the Belgian Champion in the MTB XCO. One of the main goal for 2019 is qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. On his road to Tokyo, every detail counts and that's why he partnered with Phits Insoles.

"The 3D print Phits Insoles have a very positive effect on my cycling position" Jens says, "I feel a more effective power transfer during every rotation and using my Phits in my cycling shoes, significantly reduced my lateral knee movement during cycling. I'm not longer experiencing that annoying, nagging pain in my knee I felt in the past during and after long training rides. It's really fun to work with the Phits team, I really like the way the Phits support team responds to my feedback and then also actually improves the inserts. Based on my input, we even co-created and 3D printed a new type of cycling insole to even better fit my needs."

At Phits Insoles, they're very happy to support Jens on his olympic mission. Tom Peeters, Brand Manager at Phits Insoles and responsible for sports partnerships explains: "we really love the approach of this partnership, his attitude is brilliant: Jens focuses on providing us with detailed feedback to improve the product rather than focusing on commercial exposure. In this way, Jens can improve his performance and remain injury free and we can improve our product and bring the developments to market. We believe Phits can be a tiny part to help him to qualify for Tokyo and set a great performance there."
